Uncertainty – A Poem

My old friend, uncertainty

Keeps coming around again

I cannot decide if he’s

An enemy or friend

He casts his fearful shadow

And what should find me next

But beauty in the places

I might least expect?!

If all was safe and perfect

Uncertainty would die

But his double-edged sword

Swings both low and high!

Without him no adventure

To hang me by a wire

But how I would miss

The faith this “frenemy”requires.

Anticipation is his cousin

Daring me to wish

Uncertainty precedes the hope

I otherwise would miss!
