about
EMILY H. SUTHERLAND
ghostwriter | executive storyteller | coach
I invested two decades of my writing career in the music industry, where I was mentored by world-class artists and storytellers. During those years I learned the mechanics of mass communication while participating in the production, marketing, and scripting of award-winning television productions and feature-length programs. As the director of content and staff writer, I learned to tell stories using all kinds of tools, including print magazines, online interviews and photojournalism, video recaps and compilations, and all aspects of public relations and sales interviews, to recap videos, to souvenir programs and product packaging.
In 2017, I launched a second career as a ghostwriter, executive storyteller, and writing coach. Since that time, I’ve had the joy of helping people find words for their stories and ideas to create books, documentaries, screenplays, podcasts, marketing and branding content, courses, and leadership resources.
I’ve collaborated with high-profile clients, first-time authors, thought leaders, executives, and survivors to ghostwrite or co-author their books. I’ve helped both start-ups and well-established companies solidify their brand stories and training material to attract their ideal clients. And I’ve had the privilege of helping people with great ideas turn them into books, videos, websites, and even songs. And I have been blown away by the results of creating storytelling classes for virtual and in-person events where friendships were formed, stories nurtured, and dreams realized.
Storytelling is at the heart of everything I do, and I’m constantly exploring new ways to craft great stories that make a difference in the lives of people. purpose.
